Nathan’s Holiday Trek 2006

The end of the “lunch”: around 10 p.m., Lars was too drunk to remember the phone number of the taxi company. Fortunately, Niels’s wife Ninette was sober and drove us back to Lars’s apartment. In the interest of full disclosure, I must admit to being every bit as drunk as Lars, which why this picture is not very sharp.

Mogensen family meeting

At the cemetery, the family was reunited. Here is Lars with his sister Hanne; Lars’s daughter Klara is in the background.
I took the “official” Mogensen family photograph.
Lars’s younger brother, Niels, is preparing lunch at his house.
The table is laid and we are all ready to begin. At this point, it is around 2 p.m.
We spent the next several hours eating, drinking, exchanging gag gifts, drinking some more, having fun, enjoying pleasant conversation, and then drinking some more. It is a hard job to participate in a Danish Christmas lunch, but someone has to do it. Hanne got some fluorescent earrings.
