Nathan’s Holiday Trek 2006

In Copenhagen, I visited my parents’ graves and then went to visit my friends Marek and Tamara. Marek is having a beer; I was too hung over to join him, especially since I had to drive to the harbour later in the evening to catch the ferry across the Baltic Sea to the Polish coast. This is the second half of my Christmas trek, and it is documented on the following pages.

Driving to Copenhagen

The day after that Christmas lunch, Dec. 27th, I drove to Copenhagen, nursing a very bad headache. The highlight of this drive (about 300 km) is the crossing of the Great Belt between the islands of Fyn (Funen) and Sjælland (Zealand). It is one of the world’s great bridges. I did not bother getting out of the car--there is no place to stop anyway, so I just had to take pictures while driving.
Every time I stopped, Taco became restless, hoping the the captivity in the car was finally coming to an end.
The area on the Zealand side of the Great Belt Bridge is a popular fishing spot.
